Psychiatry & Medication Management in NYC

For some people, therapy works best alongside medication. At Fifth Avenue Therapy, psychiatric care is part of an integrated team approach: our on-staff psychiatrists work in close coordination with your therapist, so that medication and talk therapy support the same goals rather than happening in separate silos.

We're a not-for-profit practice near Union Square, between Midtown and Downtown Manhattan, accepting most major insurance plans, including Medicaid, with sliding-scale fees available.

Care That's Coordinated,
Not Siloed

Unlike standalone providers or telehealth services that prescribe medication with little context, our psychiatrists consult directly with your therapist to assess whether medication might help and, when it would, to manage it carefully over time. When indicated, monthly visits with your assigned psychiatrist work in combination with weekly therapy sessions. It's a model designed around the whole picture of your care.

Available to Therapy Clients

Because we believe medication is most effective as part of a broader treatment plan, psychiatric services are only available to clients who are already engaged in individual psychotherapy with us. If you're looking for psychiatric care, the first step is to begin therapy at Fifth Avenue. From there, your therapist can bring in one of our psychiatrists if it makes sense for you.

Affordable, In-Network Care

We accept most major insurance plans, including Medicaid, and offer sliding-scale fees based on income, so that integrated psychiatric care stays within reach.
